   If you are seeking a way to start your day every morning….I have been reading this for close to a year. It really is a great start to the day for me. I read it first thing in the morning, and spend some reflective time during the day. In addition, I jot down the key messages in my journal, so that I internalize/interpret the readings. While some may take offense at how it’s presented (in a direct way, as though Jesus is talking to you), I find the contemporary and modern language more relevant and impactful. Having the actual scriptures written below the daily reading, is very helpful too, as one can then easily refer to the actual biblical verses that form the basis of the day’s passages. After purchasing from this source, I found that one can directly purchase this edition directly from the publisher, thomasnelson dot com, at a lower price (thus, reason why this is 4 stars). The contents is 5 star.Feb 5, 2017 update – The Dec purchase was for my 92 year old mother. I recently spoke with her, and she was effusively sharing how she found the readings very uplifting and providing her peace of mind and spirit.

   Made a great giftA friend gave me a small hardback version of this devotional, and I loved it. It was so helpful for my spirit. I decided to get this version of the book as a gift for someone else, so I don’t know how it has stood up over time. However, when it arrived, it was in very good condition and looked professional. The person I gave it to said she liked it very much.

   This is my very favorite format of this devotional.This is my very favorite format of this devotional. Wonderful cover and ribbon bookmark. What is the best think for me is the larger size of the pages and that all of the verses are printed out on the page. Not just a reference.I so would like to have the other devotionals by Sarah Young in this format but I have only been able to find in smaller book or if in larger page size, didn’t have the verses printed out.
